Defective Aftermarket Replacement Parts

I had forgotten about this one, Bill! I ran into a similar issue but was able to find a combination that worked for me. Taken together, the new cap and cup I purchased were ~0.023" shorter than the stock cap and cup that were installed in the car.

I talked about it here a little bit - Upper wishbone ball joint shim - C24523

Before we move on from this topic, a favorite peeve. Why oh why can’t the usual suppliers provide low pressure brake lines that are resistant to brake fluid? I’m talking about the lines between the bottles and the masters. Every vendor set I’ve ever had “sweats” brake fluid. I bought a length of simple EDPM hose from McMaster, and it holds up better than any purpose-made product in the market. You can paint yellow stripes on it if you’re picky.

I bought 2 dash switches from one of the regulars. The replacement switches were gloss black and have a light grey square on the top. Not at all like the originals. Fortunately, I little spray paint makes them blend in better.

Like this? It was simple using a wide yellow paint pen

I like that: the yellow is a tracer for leak.
