Door locks and parasitic battery drain # 5 fuse in trunk and pcm under glove box

Battery drains and door locks do not function. Sent door lock module off for check and it was bad. Replaced it and still nothing and battery drain. Draw is 200 ma and #5 fuse in trunk to BCM under glove box stops draw and one chip look discolored inside the module. Anybody?

We just recently heard from someone who fixed a problem that sounded suspiciously similar by replacing the capacitors in the door lock solenoids. Apparently when they go bad they drain the battery. Really cheap fix, capacitors cost mere pennies.

That was me. This thread provides the details. I believe it was fuse 5 in my case also.

HE door lock solenoid rebuild

After spending two days tracing a parasitic power drain, I discovered that the right hand door lock solenoid/switch is causing an extra 40ma draw in the unlocked position which goes away in the locked position. I suspect one of the two charging electrolytic capacitors is failing, that one of the diodes is failing, or I’ve got corrosion causing the drain, since the drain only occurs in one position of the solenoid/switch.
