For a little while the drivers door on my X308 XJR has been swinging free once I open it, the door restrainer just wasn’t doing its job.
So I decided to check today why and this is what I found, the bracket had burst out on the top stud and the bracket had broken on the underside
This is what came out of the door;
Luckily I had a spare from the car I purchased for the front panels to repair the car after the crash;
A couple of hours with a drill and file and I had a strengthening plate cut and fixed in place;
Now all I have to do is take the door card off again as the door module has two plugs and wouldn’t you know it Jaguar made the plugs interchangeable
