Door striker and striker pin

I have a '69 S2 2+2. Were the door striker and striker pins chromed as in earlier models?

No, they were not. the part on the door was, I believe, cad plated. I’m not sure about the part on the B pillar.

Thanks, should I have them zinc plated then…I cannot get the cadmium plate.

Frank, the door striker were cad plated as were the pins. Zinc plating would last longer but it will be much more shiny.

You are within miles of one of the finest cadmium platers in the country (*). Talk with Brooke - she is the owner and will likely answer the phone.

The aircraft industry has very high standards for cadmium plating of various aircraft parts – especially since 911.

The pricing is weight based - the first pound includes the set up and prep (~$130); relatively cheap after that ($10 per additional pound) - so bulk processing is your best bet

(*) I learned of her from Dick Maury. I had them cad plate all my front suspension pieces

Meeting with Brooke tomorrow with all my parts. She is the Plating General Manager. I told her about your forum post. She laughed.
Thanks, Frank
