Dragged home a sorry '77

I’m sure this will end up as a parts car, but I got it anyway.

Engine runs - if you can call it that - belching smoke, dropped seat clacking away, oh dear!

Seats wrecked, paint bubbles everywhere

There are few bits on it though; rear anti roll bar, new rack, 3.31 diff.

I actually like the colour, but I like Willow and Ascot too.

I just thought I’d post this,

U.S. car with Ontario plates. I’m surprised that the vendor let you keep the plates.

I have an old filing cabinet that color.

Rob, if you’re still buying early XJ-Ses let me know. Thinking about selling mine, and is in much better shape.

Only half kidding, since one day I’ll have to give it up.

Of course I look at it and think “its not that bad!” Lol! I like the color too!

It doesn’t look that bad to me. I have a bunch of parts including two motors from a 76 & 78 if you get around to fixing it. I actually sold a lot of parts from them overseas. Both cars were totally rotted out with no hope of resurrection.

I found this in the console. I imagine it’s to record onto the cassette? For the jet-setting fellows of the time.

If you part it out, I could use the rear sway bar, links and mounting brackets.

Hate to say it…but you could put v8 in it…but only if rust free body

The hood would make a great wall ornament in a bar paying tribute to the 70’s!

How do you know it’s a U.S. car?

To me, the body looks in good shape, at least from what the photos show …

For sure, I’ve no vote.

I’d do a lot to get that cat back on the road !!!

Carl

That looks like a great project. Please fix and update us with the progress
