Dumb Question

OK guys, got a dumb question. What is a “shaft” type radio? I’m thinking
the kind with knobs versus buttons?? Or is it the size of hole required?

LLoyd - then again, my radio has given me the “shaft” a time or two…-

That’s what I was calling a shaft type radio, one with knobs. It’s
getting harder to find them anywhere.

Back when I was MUCH younger, I worked in a TV, Radio shop. We sold and
installed Motorola brand car radios. They used to make just about any
type of faceplate, knob kit you could imagine.

I remember replacing my original Blaupunkt tube radio in my first E-Type
with a nifty AM-FM (no cassette back then) model that had a plug you
could set for positive or negative ground! Later on, I added one of the
first Motorola 8-track players! (remember 8-tracks?)

BTW, on the A/C kit, I saw that too. A lot of A/C places here in town
claim to be able to do that R134a for R12 retrofit for around $90. Be
aware though that R134a will give you a 10 - 15% drop in cooling
efficiency over R12. That’s one of the reasons newer cars generally
have larger A/C compressors and condensors, to make up for the loss._______________________
