[E-Type] 2+2 handbrake cable

Can anyone with a 2+2 or a series 3 tell me how to access the front
connection of the handbrake cable?

The Haynes and Jaguar manuals deal with FHC and OTS models and
mention a plate that can be removed to access the front of the
propshaft and cable attachments, but my series 1 1/2 2+2 doesn’t
have such a plate.

Steve,

If you remove the centre console and gearbox boot you will see a
metal plate. If you remove it you can unscrew the screws retaining
the handbrake and get to the handbrake cable
