[E-Type] 4.2 Litre Pistons

Need a little info.(I’ve searched the forum but cannot find an
answer).

I’m rebuilding my engine (4.2). The crank and rod bearings appear
to be standard. The pistons are the ‘‘low dome’’ type which is 8:1
compression. The ‘‘high dome’’ pistons are 9:1 compression (Am I
correct?)

I see references to ‘‘long skirt’’ and ‘‘short skirt’’ pistons. I’m not
sure which I have. Mine appear to be the short type but I have no
frame of reference. Are there measurements to verify short/long
skirted pistons?

Any info would be appreciated.–

For reference here is a pic of a new 8:1 ‘‘short skirt’’
piston. I recently installed these in my '68 OTS (4.2).
Maybe this will help you figure it out.
