[E-Type] 63 FHC lower door seal

I purchased new lower door seals (the ones with the matching drain
slots)which are very difficult to fix. I am wondering if my
replacement seals are too large. The vertical dimension on the
flashing is 16 mm (0.62 ins.) and the horizontal width is 22mm
(0.87 ins).

Two questions

  1. is the shape correct
  2. are the dimensions correct

Advice would be appreciated.

John

Looks just like the shape of the stuff I used: not sure of
my dimensions but a bit of shoving into the channel might be
necessary. Mine didn’t have the ‘slots’ for the drains but
they just naturally formed over time.–

It is correct. Be aware though that if you just install it
straight in like that, you might have a really hard time
closing the door because the tang sticks out so far. I had
to get the glue on both parts and then stick the end in and
stretch it out as I glued it down. It’s very elastic, and
as you stretch the materiel the tang thins out, and allows
it to fit in the channel easier and easier to close the
door. Then trim it and tape the ends down until it sets.–
