[E-Type] Air Conditioning Fan Ballast Resistor

Anyone know how to properly connect the A/C fan ballast resistor in a Series
3? The resistor has three terminals. The wiring diagram shows the green
wire to the center, the blue to one end and the brown/blue to the other end.
The problem is the resistor can be installed in the clip either way. I note
that the resistance from the center post to one side is different than to
the other side. The owners manual says not to mix up the connections or you
can damage the unit. My fan works but it seems to put out the highest
volume at the mid setting.

Pat, Left side connection is brown/black; off centre to
right green; right light blue.Resistance is centre to left
8.6 ohms; centre to right is 1.5ohms.This for the blower
that is inside the car–

The resistance should measure the same from either end of the
resistor. But if it doesn’t it won’t matter much. The green wire
needs to be in the middle. You can exchange ends for the other two
wires if it’s not running to your liking.

I think your problem is on the switch side. If the fan runs fastest
in the middle position, exchange the brown and green wires at the
switch. Make sure the red wire is on the same lug as the brown wire.

I don’t see how you could damage the unit by mixing up connections.
