I just charged a new battery. The charger turned off, the voltage
on the battery was 11.48v. I couldn’t get it to charge higher. What
voltage should I have on a fully charged battery?

Bob if I recall correctly each cell develops 2.2dcv. So 13.2 volts
for a fully charged battery. If you are using an old style
(ferroresonant) humming charger, you can only acheive 80-90%.

Bob, You want a solid state 3 stage charger. Yhey’re quite a bit
more expensive and probably a bit of overkill. If you can’t find
one in auto parts stores, look in Gander Mtn, Bass-Pro - they’re
typically used to recharge deep cycle batts.
