[E-Type] Better Spark Plugs

We have several “Spark plug thread” every year but I don’t recall ever
having seen these mentioned:

http://www.orau.org/ptp/collection/consumer%20products/sparkplugs.htm

Saw these mentioned on another list to which I belong (related to old
Brit bikes) and though they sounded “interesting”.

Never seen or heard of them but now I have something new to look for at
any swapmeets I attend!

These would be one hell of a talking point at any concours…

just because they existed…)______________________________________________________

I learn, or hear about, something new on this list every day. Radioactive spark plugs! Who would have thought?

I think you guys are not looking at the big picture and what we, the
“car guy” movement, could do to ease some of the world’s major problems.

What fascinated me with the “radioactive spark plugs” was that they used
Plutonium and we all know what a pain that is if someone needs to get
rid of it! So, here is a significant opportunity - there is a lot of
radioactive waste from NPPs, old nuc powered warships, etc., that has to
be stored. Much better to use it all up in spark plugs!!! Now we, the
“old car” owners, have to change our spark plugs more often than those
boring modern vehicles (100k miles per set), so we have a greater
ability to use them up than anyone else!

Heck, we could even ask for the ceramic to also be radioactive (not sure
if there is an excess of Radium that needs to be “used”) and we could
have luminescent spark plugs (the rice rocket crowd would surely love to
have those!!!), so at night we’d need no lighting under the bonnet and
think how great the glow would look through the engine louvers.

There would be some special benefits as well - most of the countries
that are suffering from overly fast growing populations (Indonesia,
India, etc.,) also have a very high usage of small motorbikes and where
is the spark plug? That’s right, just between your legs!!! So the radio
active spark plug would be providing an additional benefit towards
conservation of the earth’s resources by lowering the birth rate.
Nothing but a win-win situation here.

Time for a little thinking “out of the box”!!!

John,

For the ceramic on your new Eco-plugs, use recycled ‘‘Fiesta
Ware’’ dishes! Just make you buy up only the red ones, they’re
loaded with uranium. And only the pre-WWII stuff, before they
switched to depleted uranium!
Might want to be careful with the motorbike plugs. My
understanding (from watching old SciFi re-runs on Million Dollar
Movies on WOR when I was growing up in NYC), is that radioactivity
makes things bigger. If you’re not careful, you may end up moving
the center of the world porn industry from LA to KL, depriving us
of the countrys one consistently profitable industry.–
