My bonnet came in unassembled and in pieces… can someone tell me
on a 69 SII is the sugar scoop installed below the bonnet and
fender sheet metal or on top??? Thanks…–

The sugar scoops have a quarter-inch flange that should be on the
outside of the bonnet panels. They are secured with pop rivets
with a special washer that the chromed trim ring clips to. The
chromed ring completely covers the flange on the sugar scoop.
That’s the way my 70 Series II E was when I disassembled it, and
that’s the way it went back together. I suppose you could assemble
it with the flange on the underside of the bonnet panels, but you’d
have to check for interference at the seams.–
