Just made a dolly to rest the front of the car on while front
suspenstion is off, noticed that the wiring loom connects to the
bonnet in a towbar style socket and plug. I’m guessing its not
original?

Ben, I’m new to this forum, but I happen to have my bonnet almost
off and disconnected that plug last night. Mine is about 1.25’’
diam and has a bevy of copper-looking protrusions in the bonnet
receptacle. The plug on the wire has a rubber shroud over it. I
can take a picture if you want. I guarantee mine is original.
Where to get subframe components? Lot’s of companies sell them but
only two make them: Uryk at http://www.etypefabs.com/ and Martin
Robey. I am dealing with Uryk.
If you are removing a V12 engine, I have the whole process
documented with drawings, links, comments from this forum, etc. on
a web wiki that I can point you to if you wish (about 12 pages
printed out). As I remove my engine, I will add comments and notes.–

Original plug has a circle of seven pins with an eighth center
pin. The plug has a bakelite shield with numbers zigziaging across
and down.–
