A few days ago someone (Pat?) asked about a 2+2. A little pricey.
Cars that “appear” better come up frequently. Stumbled across this
one just now for '$17k, supposedly not rusty.
Strange… looks like a 3.8 engine.

Patrick lives in the UK Paul. Turns out he’s actually just up the
road from me, so I will edumacate him in all things E-typical
I’ll teach him everything I know but am a bit stuck for things to
do when those five minutes are up.–

Dave,
I agree, even better. And guess what the auction ended this morning
at $13,600. There was no reserve so someone got themselves a nice
car. Another example of how a nice 2+2 can be had for under $20k.
Bargains!

Paul,
This Ebay one looked good to me at under $14K

Definitely appears to be a 3.8 not a 4.2. Also, he describes it as
having 2 Strombergs, then later says recent work included adding
triple carbs. Pix definitely show 3. Looks like a lot was spent on
the interior (new steering wheel, headliner, leather kit), and the
exterior paint looks decent, but there is tons of overspray on the
resonators and exhaust. Rubber on the bumpers appears new, so I’d
assume they did new rubber all around. The performance radiator is
a plus. 4 spd in a S2 2+2 is somewhat rare in the States. Are you
looking for a driver, a restored example, or something you want to
restore to original specs? This looks to be a pretty nice driver,
but $17K is on the high side.–

Gee…I didn’t know that my 2+2 manual was all that rare here
in the States. I guess that I have new respect for it, now.
The car definitely had a repray from red to burgundy. Bad
masking off job, but hey, the rubber looks tired and ready
to be replaced anyway. the rest of the overspray can be
cleaned off. Shame about the burgundy paint job-staying
resale, err, signal red would have been my choice.

…with that attitude you just might be able to hold off the loonie bin men with their white coats and big nets. I think you can become a long term member of this club… errrr, society, ummmm, flock?
