[E-Type] carbon canister series 2

Does anyone have a copy of jaguar tech bulletin IG8 as I need
to see the connections for the canister and the gas tank
during a rebuild?

Dave IG8 (May 1970) simply refers you to Service training
notes SSJ1 for 1970 models covering timing and evap loss
equipment. SSJ1. We have those notes but they are of poor
quality and were replaced by Jaguar publication E.123E/2
which is a proper manual and has full descriptions and
drawings of the entire evaporative system to include the
correct routing of the hoses in the fuel tank area to the
expansion tank. This is a JCNA offering so contact me off
line if interested in a copy (we have the permission for
this one also).–

David,

A link to the information you require has been posted on the
E-Type forum on this site in January 2013. I found it with a
simple search of the archives with search term ‘‘carbon
canister’’. I am always concerned when I see copies of Jaguar
documents posted on public forums, as I wonder if they are
copyrighted. In this particular case, I am more inclined to
believe it is legitimate. It assuages my feeling of guilt a
little if I don’t repost the link, but instead provide a few
clues…

Good luck
-David–

I have collected information about the carbon canister at the
following link: http://www.obviously.com/14/jaguar-xke-e-type

I don’t think there’s legitimate concern about copyright on
this sort of thing. It’s a manufacturer’s service bulletin
for the car being used by the legitimate owner of the car for
maintenance/repair. Seems like ordinary customer support to
me.
