[E-Type] Chrome attachment to roof drain channel?

On a Series 2 FHC how is the chrome strip that runs above the front
door and above the rear window attached to the ‘‘drain channel’’ on
the roof? My chrome is loose in the middle and I would like to
reattach.

Ray-

On my Series 1.5 2+2 it is just a press fit, with the bottom
horizontal edge of the chrome strip fitting into a gap in
the body panels. If the center is loose, I believe you will
have to remove the entire strip and either close the center
of the gap in the body panels or crimp the center of the
horizontal edge of the chrome strip to provide better
purchase in the gap. Be careful removing it though, because
if the front or rear fit is tight, it is very easy to crimp
or crack the visible chrome surface beyond aesthetic repair
(you can guess how I know!). Good luck,

Kent–
