[E-Type] Converting Series 2 Wiper Motor from LHD to RHD

Has anyone done this? I know how to do it for the Series 1
cars but not the series 2.

Really appreciate any help.

Dear Angus,

If it is like the s3, then I think the big nylon gear wheel needs
to be swapped over. This has a cutout in it where a microswitch
contact closes the parking contacts. If you have one with the
words ‘‘Park 100’’ stamped onto it, then you’ll be looking for one
with ‘‘Park 280’’ on the cover.

kind regards

It’s a very simple change - just turn the link on the end of the
motor round 180 degrees.–

I should have said: it’s a simple task once you’ve got the assembly
out of the car!–

Thanks guys. Seems much easier than the S1 then! I
can’t move the crank through 180 as I don’t know the
original position of it! Can’t remove the link either
because (so I’ve read) that if you reposition the link
AND the crank is in the wrong position, it cancels out
the change. Guess I’ll just have to fire it up and see
where it parks!–

Just reviving this old message.
Is this the link your referring to that needs to be turned 180 degrees, to park the wiper blades on the right hand side, is this all that needs to be done.

Cheers Phil.

Yes, that’s the one!

And yes, nothing else to do, apart from change the wiper arms.

Thanks for the quick reply Tim.

When Loosening nut, support the metal arm not the wiper motor body. This way you’re not applying force to the plastic gear.
