[E-Type] cool "vette" OT

Anyone else catch this on Ebay?

This was new one to me. From the thumbnail I thought it was
just a vette, but given the price tag I had to open it and
see. I’m not sure if the history blurb is correct but if
so, I’m amazed that they didn’t just run with it because IMO
it would have kicked the butt of the Mako Shark Vette which
I’ve never really liked and would never have bought. The
nose is much more elegant, downright Italian looking. The
interior lacks all of the plastic faux luxury of the vette.
I guess this is why they killed it, but how does it make
sense to kill something that stands to sell even better than
another car in your production line? Just another thing
I’ll have to change when they invent that time machine.

Considering the peers in '64 this thing was ahead of its time but then
I guess that’s what prototypes are, sorta. What is even more stunning
is someone bought the thing for $1.5m, yipes. Surely its going to a
private collection or museum. I’m afraid if I were going to spend
that kind of money I’d want something I could drive, you really
wouldn’t want to drive that thing.

Paul,
What was kind of an eye opener to be was that when checking the
winning bidders feedback the most expensive thing listed sold for
something like $50!

Bob,
Yeah, you have to be skeptical of a buy like that. We won’t know
until Eric finds it again on ebay
