[E-Type] Difference between Series 1 and Series 2 Header

The headers and exhaust have been ripped from my car by an hump in
a service station forecourt whilst approx 400 miles from home and
so I am presently stuck in the middle of woop.

The Australian Series 2 cars had none of the anti-smog stuff that
the US cars had and are identical to the Uk cars.
Anyhow. I have access to a Series 2 header. Are they different to
that of a Series 1?–

The answer to your question is, there is no difference. Even if the
manifolds had the S2 pollution control stuff, they could be used
interchangeably. Now, my question, where or what is woop?

I’ll vote for any candidate who promises to remove speed bumps…

In reply to a message from Stephen Pierce sent Thu 4 Dec 2003:

The exhaust manifolds for the series 2 differed from serie 1
in that they had threaded bosses to hold the exhaust heat
shield that series 1’s did not have. The reproduction
manifolds are of the seies 1 type, they will fit the series
2 but the heat shield will have no attachment.–

Woop is the middle of nowhere. You know the place half way between
home and any place that can actually help you with the problem.

The place with no mechanic, no towing service and the only
accomodation has no running water and only has electricity on
Wednesdays.

The kind of place that if it was hit by a violent storm it would do
$2 million worth of improvement.

The place 200km west of the end of the earth.

Speed humps? It would be lucky to have road other than the highway
that runs through the middle of it. The only speed humps are the
slow moving locals!

I have got the headers and exhaust mounts sent to me by courier so
I should be underway today. Thanks for the feedback.–

Mike,

What happened that your headers have to be replaced? Sounds serious.

Speed Hump: (a) when you are on a hot date and have
limited time or (b) thing designed by wicked road
engineers to facilitate, at least every two or three
years, the replacement of one’s E-Type’s stainless
steel exhaust system thereby rendering useless the
lifetime guarantee
