[E-Type] Digest V5 #167 Bonnet Chrome & Wipers

Stefan & Lloyd,
Thanks for your insight about the mouth chrome on 1971 Series 2 E-Types. Three more questions: #1 Since I have the lower chrome mouth piece, but not the top, I am trying to get one. You mentioned the series 3 chrome had to be worked to fit the series 2 mouth. Therefore, the piece I need has a series 3 part number? Or, in other words there are no series 2 mouth chrome part numbers because they are series 3 parts. Correct?
#2) My car has three wipers, what is the correct finish for the wiper arms, bright chrome or a duller “satin like” chrome…looks like an aluminum color?
#3) Are all three arms and blades supposed to be the same lenght? Mine are not. The passenger and middle wipers arms are the same, and look correct. The driver wiper arm is shorter, but has the same size wiper blade.
Note since the drivers wiper arm is shorter, the wiper does not wipe the upper section…at eye level…but this same blade in the parked position, sticks off the drivers side a little.

P.S. I succesfuly located the Leapers for the sides of the bonnet. Thanks

The part # for the Series III upper grill moulding, (earlier Series IIIs),
is
BD38830/1 (per the Brittish Auto/USA catalogue)

Hi Guys. Aren’t the S-II and S-III bonnet openings quite a bit different in
size? I am quite pessimistic re ‘fitting’ the S-III upper chrome piece to a
S-II. I think I have my old chrome (pack rat that I am) around somewhere
that I would be happy to donate for the shipping cost.

1; sIII is used on the sII, the sII did not have a seperate one. The
sIII is sort of squeezed and twisted to fit, and never really looked
right. Look at one closely as the sIII mouth is bigger.
2; wiper color is the aluminum type color you mentioned
3; They should all be the same length.
Agree Stefan???
LLoyd late sII
