[E-Type] Discontinued part seatch

The bracket that holds the magnetic pickup in my dizzy is broken and it’s
apparently a discontinued item. Anyone know of a source for such items? I’ll
probably have to settle for a used part, I know.

It’s PN 54419381 and cross references at XKs Unlimited as JA-LS397. XKs does
not have one.

Thanks,

Dick, I don’t have a clue what magnetic part you are talking
about, but I have a distributor here from a 69 that was a
Katrina victim. Would this be a part that I might have? If
so, let me know.–

Richard,

Thanks very much but mine is a V-12, so it’s a different distributor. I
doubt that the brackets are the same. If I’m wrong, I’m sure someone on the
list will chime in.

We used JB Weld on the existing bracket to put it back together and it seems
to be working but I’d still like to replace that part since it’s a
discontinued item. If anyone knows of one, I would appreciate hearing from
you.

I appreciate your reply!!

I know this will sound odd, have you tried the dealer yet?<

I’ve tried XKs Unlimited and two Lucas dealer sources I found with Google,
plus Lucas themselves late this afternoon. Too early for any replies.

Thanks, Brad.

Dick: there was a company selling outdated and hard to find Lucas
parts on ebay about a month ago, they had a ton of them. Try a
search and see if anything comes up. If not, let me know and I will
see if I can track them down for you.

Thanks Iain!

It turns out Dave Curry at ReOpus has a spare and the price is the same.
I’ll get his because I know it’s the correct part.

Barry,

Thanks for the lead but I’ve found one. I’m going looking for the company
anyway for future needs.
