[E-Type] Door Adjustment

In reply to a message from Metalover sent Thu 14 Jun 2012:

I have heard of people just bending the entire door by hand in the
proper direction…i guess it depends on the quality of the
car.might be suprised how easily they can be tweaked…not my first
choice however–

You may have to loosen all four of the hinge to pillar bolts
and move the whole door out somewhat. Rotating it outward will
bring the bottom edge inward. Work carefully if its already
painted. Kevin–

It’s a difficult job to do in my experience, but it’s a slow step
by step proces. The best way imo is slackening 3 bolts from the 4
bolts of the hinge and pivot it on the 4th bolt. So if you want the
top of the left hinge/door in, slacken the 2 top bolt and the left
lower bolt and pivot the hinge/door on the right lower bolt.

This way of adjusting gave me the best result. Step by step without
loosing the set-up you already have.

Tape the edge of door and pillar of bodywork to prevent chipping
paint (how do I know!).

Richar–

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I will ponder on this one
for awhile. Sometimes messing with a small issue ends with a
much bigger issue on these older cars.
