[E-Type] Door lock loose- what can I do?

Hi,

on my 66 S1 2+2 (separate locks!) I found that the driver
s door lock is loose. I can rotate it by some 30 degs left
and right.

It has those tongue-like springs inside, but they look a
bit short cause they do not press it against the door sheet
metal anymore. The is no insert nor rubber under the lock
body, so I cannot adjust anything (I think).

It works nice, else, just it is so loose.

What can I do ? Make a small metal piece to put it under
the lock, inside the door, to better engage the tongue
blades and glue this to the inside of the door ?

I have the same problem with the identical car.

Did you end up solving the problem? If so where did you source the lock tumbler retainer?

As a temporary fix I popped on a rubber “o” ring to tighten it.

Oh I am not sure, this post being 7 yrs old now… I must have a look at the car…
