[E-Type] Door seals comparison - redux

We left off the conversation here

http://forums.jag-lovers.org/av.php?1659596o17

comparing MacGregor with SNGB door seal profiles with a promise to
return with photos of seals received from C O H Baines, received
today. I returned the seals to SNGB who took them back without
hesitation (still happily my go-to supplier) so don’t have the
three to present side by side but here are the original photos
posted alongside the new ones - left side, the greyish, bulkier
seals were from SNGB photographed beside the MacGregor seals, and
on the right the seals just received from Baines. Bottom of the A-
post seal:

top of the A-post seal:

finally the B-post seal:

Conclusion: The A-post seal profiles offered by MacGregor and
Baines appear to be about the same. The B-post seal profile from
Baines appears to be closer to the original. Both are
satisfactorily compliant in comparison to the seals originally
sourced from SNGB.

John Holmes reports having had a conversation with Tony Lee at SNGB
who says that SNGB is now sourcing their seals from Baines, which
explains David Langley’s final post on the original thread.–

A while ago I gave the UK Barratts guys slices of Baines
seals taped to a sheet of paper alongside SNGB slices. Glad
the pipeline has changed and happy the recommendation here
earlier has proven well-founded Nick. Good prts.

Yet another example of how valuable this forum is, Pete. Seems SNGB
took your advice, too.–

I’m happy for Baines actually. It’s nice when good people
or parts gain volume market share basely simply on quality
and fitness for purpose, as opposed to sometimes less
worthy contenders winning by outspending their rivals on
promotion.
