[E-Type] Exhaust Clamps

I have 6 HD SS Walker “Butt Joint”, 2"ID clamps that I don’t need and want
to sell. There are 2" wide. Four of them were on the car for a day–2
never used. Also have 1 Torqtite easy seal SS clamp, 2 1/4"ID for sale.
$5 each. Paid $8.95 each for the 2" ones—$13 for the 2 1/4" one. You
pay shipping-----no “handling chg”!!!:):):)

Contact me off line if interested.

I’m trying to put my new (slightly used) SS exhaust system on this
weekend and need to replace the rusty clamps. It came with 2X 1
5/8’’, and 4X 1 3/4’’ ‘‘U’’ bolt style clamps and I’d rather use a band
style clamp. The U style tend to deform the pipe making hard to
ever get them apart again.

I called around locally to try and find some band clamps, but few
places had them and of those who could get them (NAPA) they can’t
get them that small. In the past I’ve used SS hose clamps to hold
my resonators on and those seem to work OK, but I had to split the
ends of the resonators so the hose clamps could tighten them up
enough. I don’t want to use hose clamps on this new exhaust.

If I use the U style clamps to hold it together until I can order
the proper band clamps, I’ll have to take everything apart again
because the band clamps slip on.

Anyone have any ideas on what alternative non-deforming clamps I
can use, and where I can get them in this 11th hour ?–

Doug

The only supplier I have found for these is Pagasusautoracing.com,
the clamps are not as long as I would like but they work. This is a
stainless band style.

Hi ya Chuck,

Yep, Springs here and I need to install some of the parts I’ve been
buyin’. I’ve got new seat covers and some new Daytons to install as
well. After that there’s new polished ZX wheels and a bunch of
other parts I need to get on my 240Z. All this stuff is taking
over my little ‘‘mid century’’ garage!

A kind member wrote me off line and gave me this link, these are
just what I had in mind and they’re a great price for SS.

You can get the proper clamps at www.dickames.com they have ‘‘C’’
style clamps in stainless. They work very nice and do not deform
the pipes. Cheers, Jukeyjag–

Hey Doug,

This may come a little late but I just fabricated a dual pak for my
2+2 using Accuseal band clamps in a 44mm or 1.75 size, and
chambered muffs. The clamps are about 1.25’’ wide, SS, and are
perfect for our ‘‘weenie’’ sized exhausts.
The only place I have found them in this size is ‘‘verocious motor
sports’’ in NJ. Google, and you will get them.
Good Luck!–
