[E-Type] Festive Christmas quiz

In reply to a message from MarekH sent Wed 17 Dec 2014:

You may have meant to imply 62 but you merely wrote s1
[sic]. So ruling out the S1 2+2 retrospectively made you
look like a politician

If you are now including it, Iā€™d say floor panels,
inner/outer sills, door hinges, rear bulkhead (2+2),
pedals/pedal box, master cylinder, clutch slave, all the
gearbox depending on matching ratios, except the cast iron
casing. Propshaft, 2+2 door and side/rear window seals (not
screen seal,

62 OTS screen top chrome would fit S3 OTS and the FHC upper
screen chrome fit S3 2+2. 2+2 screen pillar chromes would
fit, as would 2+2 door chromes as Pat said.

Why reject the column adjuster sleeve nut and exterior door
handles yet accept a V12 bootlid Jag part (not repro) as OK
for a 62 when it has half a dozen redundant holes? I know
the early lids also had the seal attached, but not sure if
it was just glued or in a channel. Hatch hinges after mid
62.

Wheel bearings, fuse blocks, speedo gearbox.

And in case you were thinking of contesting any of the
above, remember I might cancel that order for 1000 headlamp
kits

There was a s1 2+2, so it is fair game.
Itā€™s still a small list, even with lwb 2+2 parts included.

If you count rust, you then have to include overspray, runs, and sags.

OK, so Pat and Pete are hands down the winners. It looks as though
there are quite a few bits of trim and widgety type of small items
in common after all.

Pete, I wasnā€™t rejecting items specifically, just showing a
preference for nice big items anyone can immediatedely see as
common, e.g. the bootlid in preference to a column adjuster sleeve
nut, even though you have made a better case for it being the other
way around. (So 2+2 door chrome, screen top chrome, and Patā€™s
interior trim at the Aposts easily merit a mention.)

An equally useful exercise one day would be to list common parts
between the etypes and the saloons (and other Leyland cars and
trucks). Itā€™d help when sourcing spares.

Iā€™ll get back to my covered headlights nowā€¦

kind regards
Marekā€“

Beaver Fork Lift Truck transmission brake pads = hand brake pads E
Type, Scorpion (Combat Vehicle Tracked) steering brake calipers and
pads = S2 front calipers. All allegedly of course. And I believe
CVT original engine 4.2 had many matching engine parts with the
added bonus of a large capacity aluminium sump that fits and E Type.

Partly because Finnish is a bit like that, if you donā€™t have
the locative or whatever right, your sentence does not any
sense make.

Hi,

Ahh, and thatā€™s not entirely unintentional.

I did not have any Latin at school, but did get the idea how
the meaning can lie in something else than the order of words.

So maybe the Romans did something for us, after all.
