I own a '67 FHC, S1, with stock front brakes. A recent thread discussed
some alternate brake pad options to the stock Mintex type pads that worked
much better. I need to replace my front pads, can you remind me what those
are?

Axxis Metalmasters – Used to be Repco, I think, the traditional
pad upgrade. Stop fine, little dust, can be quiet. Available from
our Usual Suspects.
XKs Unlimited carbon kevlar pads – very noticeable improvement in
stopping power and responsiveness, when cold or hot. Make the
stock 3.8 car’s brakes like my Porsche 911’s, which is to say
unbeatable. Plenty of dust, squeal like boxcars. Some extra disk
wear, which acts to keep them very clean, i.e. not severe wear.
Green Stuff – available from SNG Barratt, I believe. Reported
good in JEC magazine, I have had one or two personal
recommendations, I think I will give them a try, though to date I
have no experience with them.
