[E-Type] Gas leak

I found my gas leak. Actually I popped the bonnet, asked my wife to start
sniffing and she steered me to it. I still can’t smell it…but I see it.
Damned cold. It’s in the petrol feed pipe assembly linking the carbeuretors,
where top of the ‘T’ fitting hooks up to the center banjo. Are these joints
soldered & if so should I just remove it, heat up the joint and add a bit of
solder? Should I reuse the fibre washers? If not, are these generally
available at places like NAPA, Autozone or whatever or do I need to order them
from XK’s? Any advice/suggestions will be appreciated. Clearly, I’m rather a
novice at this mechanic stuff but I’m learning.

As I recall, they are brazed but you can repair with solder if weeping

Absolutely not…they will “weep”. Use new ones (standard size) but I
have found that the aluminium ones give a better seal. I f you have
to use the old ones, soak in kerosene overnight to soften them slightly.

I’ve read that these are really (one of many) weak points in the
construction of our cars. Several of the vendors offer both the
original “T” and and improved “T” that I think is around $18 USD. I
believe XK’s is one of the vendors offering them._______________________________________________

Get the aluminum ones from John Farrell if you want them to seal. The fibre
ones don’t seal reliably
