[E-Type] Gearbox mount

The large pin that locates the gearbox in it’s mount has a
hole in it that appears to be for a cotter pin. Should
there be a washer and cotter pin in it to prevent the
gearbox from moving up when driving or does the weight of
the gearbox and engine preclude the gearbox mount pin from
popping out? Thanks, Rick

Rick,

No, it was apparently used for assembly. If you try putting
a cotter pin there, you will bind the mount and lots of
vibration will be transmitted into the body. Further,
your huge cotter pin will quickly be badly bent,
and you’ll have a heck of a time getting it out again.

Ask me how I know ; -)

Rick,

Nope, there should be no pin in the hole.
