Took the '69 2+2 and the wife to Yosemite last Wednesday,
and back on Sunday. One of them gave me no troubles.
Made the 964 mile round trip with no issues. Driving the
E-type on the highway is a pleasure and it feels like it
can run forever @ 3500 - 3800 rpm. I donât enjoy the
ââaround townââ and slower road driving as much. I was
very pleased overall as the E ran cool and strong on the
mountain roads. The scenery was spectacular and we
hopefully avoided the hantavirus. The Event was
sponsored by a SoCal Jag club. Several classics made the
trek. A good time. Bob Pâ

Yes, we are aware. We stayed about 30 miles from Curry Village,
where most of the people who came down with the virus stayed. Very
scary.â

I taught for many years in California and when we took
students to Yosemite, they were strictly banned from having
any food in the tent cabins at Curry Camp in case a bear
popped in to visit overnight. Has that rule been relaxed?

Rob, There were warnings about leaving food in cars. I donât know
if they had additional warnings at Curry. All those tent cabins @
Curry are the âânewââ 2-layer wall tent cabins. The 2 layers is what
allowed the mice to get inbetween the 2 layers and cause problems
with the virus. We did not see any bears. BPâ
