Check out the Jaguar Journal that just arrrived, Dick has a nice

Hey, Jerry,

Thanks for noticing. Slalom is BIG in JCNA when the
President and all of us keep making it so.

Our club/event was proud to have the FASTEST Jag, and the
OLDEST Jag, and the most fun of all JCNA slaloms.

Final standings for 2011 are in… I placed 3rd in both
Class E and F (driving my V12 E-Type and a friend’s XJ8)
and Mike placed first in the class for my old girl, Grace
(1935 SSII Tourer), beating a 1950s version of Jaguar.

Dick Maury (King Tater, as we call him) has only himself to
beat once again, having set the bar way to low for any of
us!!!

I remember when the record time was first set under 40
seconds (by Gary Hagopian at the first slalom I put on in
2001). Now, look at that time!–

Ginger ‘‘Tater’’ is ‘‘off the chain’’. He is now thinking of getting a
pair of magic shoes–sort of ‘‘RUBY’’ slippers but with a little
funny ‘‘prancing horse’’ on them. I also understand he has been
reading the Dune series to learn about ‘‘folding space’’ and driving
without moving’’. On the other hand all of the parts suppliers he
has called in the last week or so are looking for a ‘‘flux
capacitor’’ or something like that—any idea what he is up to?–

Absolutely not. The ‘‘tater’’ is an inside joke but is only so due to
the absolute stupidity of how it came about. Dick is an inspiring
president that in my opinion is largely responsible for the huge
gains and success JCNA has and is experiencing now–wait till you
hear the latest news–even the punters will have to swoon!–

Heeeey: How’d YOU know I play baccarat??

Dick is a powerful decent guy, who’s treated me well, in the short
dealings I’ve had with him. I’m glad to hear JCNA is a better club
for his presence in it.–

Les’s Webers get a mention but for some inexplicable reason Dick
forgot to mention the obvious key to his fast times - his
windshield installation gofer all those years ago when he and his
colleagues were putting the glass in.

Who knows, without that sensitive extra pair of hands pressing on
the glass, the whole project might have stalled right there for
ever,

…or five minutes, whichever was the sooner

Now that you mention it Peter he was going on about something or
another and I thought he was saying ‘‘Slimey’’. With this new info I
realize now he was saying ‘‘Limey’’. I do not think the windscreen
had any part in it as I have watched Dick drive and can tell you it
is a ZEN thing as his eyes are shut the entire time! If I could
just get him to have a Coke or a cup of coffee prior to his runs he
could cut another 2 seconds off of his time. But it was a tue Bob
Beeman effort–that he repeated!–

As the Monty Python crew were known to say: ‘‘This is getting
entirely to silly’’ … Peter was a big help on the windshield
though. We would probably still be struggling with it. However,
without it, the weight savings could push me into a new
plateau…I don’t think anything in the rules requires a
windshield…–

Hey Dick, I’ve got plenty more silly where that came from.
In fact I may ship a container of it over to Maryland
shortly, although I hear they have a super-abundanxe next
door in DC?

Besides, you have to watch out with this ecess weight and
non-essential parts business. Before you know it, some kid
will point out the rules don’t say there has to be a driver
on board either and will recommend dumping yout 175 lb
