[E-Type] Leather Care

I have no affiliation with this company, but can highly recommend their
leather sofnter product due to continued long term usage. Although pricey,
you can use it on any leather and it does make a difference. My cowboy
boots & dress shoes love the stuff and I save on polish!!! This product
smells nice and they say to apply evenly and let it bake in with the
windows closed and buff to a sheen. I bought a gallon ($75 USD) and split
the cost with others in quart (1 Litre). quantities. Dogs seem toolike the
way it smells too!

What is the best way to condition leather seats? In the past, I’ve
used neats foot oil and minks oil but what else is everyone using?
Thanks in advance.–

Neetsfoot or saddle oil is what I use on my OTS Series 11. Its
cheap & better than some of the brand names Ive used in the past.–

You have to be careful what you use on lacquered leather like Connolly.
I’m not familiar with Neetsfoot, but saddle stuff is basic and will ruin
the leather finish over time, or so I’ve been led to believe.

What about Connolly Hide Food? I’m sure the boys that make the
leather would also make a good care product as well, or maybe I’m
just being naive…

Truely don’t know what the best stuff is but Jerry M. put me on to “Gliptone” which is the ONLY leather conditioner that I’ve ever heard of that smells like leather. Put a little of that stuff on and you think the car is brand new again. I also use it on my daily driver. I believe SNG sells the stuff but you might be able to find it at a tack shop.

I use Gliptone also, but out here when it gets hot, it just vaporizes it
onto the inside of the windscreen and “fogs” it up. Great stuff though. Love
the smell.

Bill,
Try a sporting good store, its typically used to waterproof boots etc. You might also try a tack shop or anyplace that might do leather work. I would also not expect to see it in an upholstery place.

does anyone know where to get Neats foot oil. No one in my locale seems to
have it?
