my 69 2+2 is going to live again!..only it wont be a 2+2 anymore.
I have sourced a 63 OTS tub and the plan is to mate the S2 frame
rails and bonnet to the 63 along with the S2 rear cage. Anyone have
experence in such and am I going to have any problems with the S2
stuff on a S1 tub? Another ‘‘idea’’ I’m considering is mating the S2
tail lights/bumpers to the S1 tub. I haven’t looked yet, but anyone
with metal experence tell me what I have to do/move to do that swap
and make the car look totally like a 69?..or just stick with the S
1/5 look and be happy I have a Jag back?..

Hi
What your attempting is fully achievable. I have reshelled mixing
series 1 2 and 3 parts in the past. Series 2 cage will go straight
in a 3.8 shell, all 6 cyl frames are interchangeable, the only
point to not is the later picture frames don’t have a rad fan mount.
I am currently building a Lightweight replica from a series 1 4.2
FHC, having sourced a 3.8 OTS shell that someone had previously
replaced with new.
Interestingly the doner FHC shell had been converted at the back
end to series 2 spec, there are some pictures of this poorly
executed modification on my website, link below
Best of luck
