[E-Type] Norman Dewis of Jaguar Book

Today I finally received my copy of the book ‘‘Norman Dewis of
Jaguar developing a legend’’ WOW what a book, it may replace
Porters book on the E type as my all time favorite. Packed with
great and never seen photos and wonderful writing. It traces his
career in helping to develop all Jaguar models. Try it you will
love it.

                                      Regards,
                                        Allen

I ordered it through a link on this site. PJ publishing, don t
remember the cost as it was some time ago, I think around $100.–

Allen, Thanks I’ll look for the book, I just finished Christopher Hilton’s book
on Le Mans, 1955 and the horrible crash that killed 82 people. Although the
Jaguar team of Hawthorn and Bueb were the winners, Dewes actually went
the fastest passing a Mercedes in his D type doing 192MPH !!! In 1955,
Amazing !!!–

You all know how I feel about dear Norman! I am anxiously
awaiting my copy and think it will be the best Christmas
gift I receive this year!!

Hint: If any of you still haven’t gotten everything on your
list, this is a good one to ask for (won’t fit in your
stocking though). That is, if you’ve been nice

Hey, Phillipe,
Good going on the part of the gift giver! I love it!! The
photo of him standing, arms up, with all the Cs and Ds was
from Franklin, 2001. There is so much great stuff in there!

You betcha, it was a great experience to ride with him in
XKD505 at Goodwood; a trip I shall cherish forever. I play
those laps back in slow motion in my head. Sweeeet! Mr. D
is a great man…a skilled driver, genuinely nice fellow,
and just adorable! The book is absolutely tops; can’t
think of a better one to be mentioned in.

Cheers,–
