[E-Type] ~OT~ Cost of Diesel

Just curious: I just purchased red diesel (for my bullet heater)
for $2/gal., on-road diesel is $2.41/gal.

How’s that compare around the country/world?–

Wiggles,

$2.41/gal = 1.65279. Over here Diesel costs around .98 a litre
which works out to about $7.602834/gallon or 5.23325 GBP though I
think you’re gallons are different to ours.
I think that is correct only I’m so tired I can’t see or think
straight at the moment.
Fuel has dropped a hell of a lot over here in the past few months.

BioDiesel smells good when burned. Sort of like… French fries.

Here’s one for consideration…I live in the state that has about
10% of our domestic oil production and we even have our own little
refinery (in Nikiski, on the Kenai peninsula) and we currently pay
the highest price in the nation for our gas and diesel!! 2.39 a
gallon for gasoline yesterday. I don’t know how much diesel is
going for. We are even paying more than in Honolulu! Kinda makes me
look back with nostalgia to the days when the truckers used to say
that the country would fall apart, or that they were not going to
be in business if the price of diesel went up to 50-cents a gallon.–

Most of the stations in Tucson like Arco and Valero have 87 octane for
$1.49.9 US gallon. The biggies like Chevron, Shell, and Texaco are as
much as .10 gallon more. I filled up my 260Z yesterday for $15.00 which
is the least I’ve paid in nearly 2 years.

When I got my OTS on the road in 2001, 92 octane was $1.59.9 and I
thought that I might not get to drive it much at that price. I may have
to fill it up tomorrow as it’s about that price again. The weatherman
says it may hit 72 F tomorrow so the OTS needs a drive to circulate the
fluids.

Y’all have a great New Year, drive safely and don’t imbibe too much.
