[E-Type] Paint techniques, was Silver Fox, update

I’m useing Concept paint by PPG. It’s easy to apply and dries very hard so you
don’t have to use polish to make the car shine. But very expensive, of
course…sigh…
Got a Sears 25 gallon tank with 220 volt compressor, a new geat spray gun from
Harbor Frieght & Salvage , $28.00 on sale.
Since there was no rust and only three small dents, I just sanded it good by
hand, filled chips and scratches with scratch filler putty, primered it good and
painted it. Did it in my garage, like I did PrtyKty. Yes, a bug found his way
into the paint, but he will wash out when it dries good. NO BONDO, except what
the factory put in.

Speaking of breathers, what are you using respirator-wise? And did you use ppg
primer as well? How many coats of Concept? Will you be sanding it out?

OOOOOOOoooooooooOOOOp’s…
Forgot one small detail…
I buy a new breather (painting mask) each time I paint a car. They are supposed to
be good for 45 hours, but at only $18. bucks a pop I just get a new one. Made
especially for use with the acrylic paints. I put 4 or 5 coats on the bonnet and
back hatch door, but have to be careful as it is metallic paint and I don’t want to
make a sag or run.
No, can’t color san metallic paint very well.
LLoyd -big smile looking at the pretty metallic silver-
