Seems like Paul is moving on from the purple e-type. It just came
on as an auction item for Bring a Trailer. Anyone know if Paul is
doing okay?–

Last time I conversed with Paul he told me he was probably going to
sell the car and get into guitars more…music I assume as
opposed to just collecting. All that was probably a year ago though. On Thu, Sep 22, 2016 at 2:40 PM, Lundabo lundabo@msn.com wrote:

Bill,
Good of you to ask. Just had an online conversation with him a few
weeks ago. He’s OK but making some choices he wouldn’t have made a
few years back.

Hey Paul…I wonder if one of the ‘‘Choices’’ was using BAT…I
wasn’t totally fond of them determining what an ‘‘Appropriate
reserve’’ should be set at.–

Matt,
BTW he said to tell all he’s OK. I have no idea why he used BAT. I
knew he planned to see but didn’t know the venue until it was posted
here. I know Roger Los used BAT as well, only reason I can think of
is just assumptions, fees and perhaps ease of using photos and
descriptions. I know that sometimes BAT auctions will appear in major
car periodicals so they get a little extra high profile attention.

Paul…Great to hear that he’s doing well. Miss reading his
posts, regardless of whether I agreed or not. I’ve always
felt that he brought an amicable intensity here that I
remember being fond of.
As far as the venue one chooses to list their car is a
matter of opinion. Ebay was my choice after a long and
difficult thought process. I certainly was happy that the my
fees were a total of about $130 and that I had control over
the reserve.–

I agree; enjoyed his presence here, and very happy to know he’s doing well.

Paul is a great guy. He spent a week here with me earlier this summer. He was a huge help getting a bunch of stalled projects in my shop jump-started:
*Got the 65E running again, with new steering wheel, the broken gear shift lever replaced, seats reinstalled, etc.
Got the engine back in my race car (only later I found a hairline crack in the oil pan) oh well.
Started the engine extraction of my son’s car.
We had a great time. He drove the E85M around central Oregon (scared me $#!+less on a couple of corners, and I don’t spook easily!)

BAT is the place to buy & sell cars online these days. Great audience of knowledgeable car-folk. None of the baloney you see on eBay. I’ve used both as seller and buyer and greatly prefer Bringatrailer.
I’m very interested to see how Paul’s auction wraps up.

Guess I got lucky selling my S3 on ebay. A great buyer found
me, and ‘‘Sadly’’ the sale was seamless.
I see you have an R107, one of my all time favorites.–

I used BAT to sell the Blue Bolide last November. No
issues, no stress, great transaction. The best to Paul.–

Chuck,
Glad you and Wiggy got together… I’m kinda wishing I’d have been
there for that but not the idea of changing my shorts after the drive
in the M car.

I must confess if I had a few extra bucks and room to park
it on my tiny property I’d seriously bid on Tweety. Not
only do I like the grape outerwear, and trust Paul’s work,
it just looks a great driver. Looks like the auction’s
ticking down. I hope it climbs higher as 38k really seems
kind of low.–
