[E-Type] Personal Tags (WAS OTS In N. California - no interest to other list members)

Hey, y’all,
Come on out to Arkansas where you’ll frequently get to answer the question
“What IS that?”.
I received notice yesterday that my new tag “62ETYPE” is ready to be picked
up!
No front tags here to mess up the lovely front end either.
WONDERFUL 2 lane asphalt all through the Ozarks too.
Jealous?

On the way home from work last night, I saw a S1 OTS, registration #
"62 JAG E" (note: damn, when we acquired our E, I tried every
combination of 62, Jag, E, XKE, E TYPE, etc., and couldn't find an
available license number, I'm quite jealous of this one).

John,

Mine is a classic case of “close but no cigar”. My E-type has original
black
California plates numbered “XXE 432”. “XKE 420” would have been almost
like
winning the lottery. This combination might be available on a current
personalized plate though.

In South Carolina we also get the usual “Is that a kit car” and “What year
is that Corvette questions.” It doesn’t help much that I haven’t put the
chrome lettering back on the deck lid. My tag says it all “JAG XKE.”
It was my first choice about 6 years ago and I couldn’t believe It was
available. It won’t be available again as long as I’m alive. Sorry to
anyone searching for this tag in SC.
