This is something we do which might be of interest and use to listers with
cars currently under restoration/at the body shop.
Before we paint the cars, we weld a 10 inch long piece of angle iron
(beautifully prepared, of course) inside the bottom rail of the picture
frame, with the angle facing down. Once painted, this is not noticeable
(unless you have been run over by the car, and got a really good look) and
provides much needed protection for the picture frame when using same as a
jacking point.
I guarantee it is not something a concours judge will notice

The picture frame is the rectangular shaped (picture frame shape, actually)
part of the sub frames that sits immediately behind your radiator, and to
which the side engine frames and the bonnet hinge frame attaches.

Ahhh experience! and a great idea – But we’ll probably have every
