The weights seem quite a bit off - the S1 and S3 certainly didn’t weigh the same.

From the factory (quoted from the Owner Manual) the dry weight of the S1 cars is:

FHC 2475 lbs
OTS 2420 lbs
2+2 2745 lbs

And I’ll be a monkey’s uncle if ANY S1 coupe was 2475 pounds: i weighed Tweety numerous times, and it was 2900 and some change.

I will ONLY believe 2475 on certified scales. I think that was the same calculus for 265 hp…

Think he was looking to cover all models

The weights quoted in the Owner’s Handbook are dry weights. If dry truly means dry add in:

17 lbs. for oil
12 lbs. for gear oil
45.23. lbs. for antifreeze/water
105 lbs. for gasoline
1 lb for brake fluid

So about 180 lbs. of fluids which brings that FHC up to 2,655 lbs.

I do not buy it… when I see a verified scale weight, I will.

Were you in it at the time?

I know the 180 I posted above is accurate. I’ve got to take some junk to the scrap yard next week, scrap copper and aluminum. I might take the Jaguar and ask them to let me run it up on their certified scales. It gives a digital readout while you are sitting there.

Let us know what it scales: Tweety, on certified scales was 2900+.

No doubt, it was the poiple paint!!

There’s an obvious question I could ask, Paul🙄

I know where you are going with that but he said it only weighed 2,900 and change.

My registration papers show my S1 coupe at 1220kg. Our state uses this number to levy “weight tax” - a component of the annual charge. Converts to 2690lbs. FWIW. Paul.

Are you allowing for all that BONDO???

This was BEFORE the lead, thenkewveddymuch!
