[E-Type] Primrose yellow? Bonnet?

So the shop that painted my MGA 9 years ago is slow and they are looking for work. Hmmmm. My E needs a respray. The bonnet has a bunch of Bondo on top the nose that is cracked and needs to come out. I have a NOS Martin Robey still in the crate. I am not sure whether I repair this bonnet or use that perfect and expensive beast in waiting. What to do, what to do…

Question:
Anyone have a suggestion on primrose? I want a slightly creamy yellow color with a bit less green tint than I have seen on some cars. Mine has been re-sprayed so I am not sure it is correct. Anyone have photos of thier primrose car and love the shade? If so can you send photos to swillis@insightbb.com ?

I bought a can OEM Code 251 FDB (?? covered a bit on can) for touch-up and it is much greener than my car. I suppose I can get the paint shop to analyze my paint.

Just between you and me, so don’t tell anyone, Scott…
The original primrose with the bit of green looks better when the car is parked near trees/shrubs. The pint shop mixed my color a bit off, less green and I don’t like it. It looks like a plucked chicken. “Barfy plucked chicken yellow”
So think before you spray.

In reply to a message from scott willis sent Mon 19 Apr 2010:

I painted my 71’ 4.2 OTS Pale Primrose with white pearl in the
clear coat and it’s stunning. The pearl softens the yellow and
adds depth.
