Hi Ken, I have a 71 S2 FHC. Trying to verify a few trim pieces that were
unique to 71 Series 2 cars.
Does yours have a chrome strip around the front air intake? Mine has the
lower piece and I am trying to locate the upper. Does anyone know if the part
number for the upper piece of chrome?
Does your car have the leaping Jaguar’s mounted on each side of the bonnet
behind the wheel arch?

My car apparently had a front end collision sometime in the past. Several
PO’s pieced together a new bonnet, and lots of things are still missing. I
have no trim around the front air intake, nor any leapers, but I also don’t
have a support strut that holds open the bonnet, no safety catch, no front
license plate bracket, etc.
Sorry, but I don’t think my car is a good baseline for determining what is
supposed to be original.
People always discuss things about early cars, flat floors, outside bonnet
locks, etc. I’ve always felt that my car is at least a little bit special
because it’s near the end of the 6 cylinder cars.

I have a late sII, 1971. The US dealers put the dumb chrome mouth on
them, they didn’t come from England with them.
The leapers were mounted on the late series II also, I’m not sure when
that started, but only the 1971’s.
