[E-Type] RE: MIG Welder preferences?

Bob,

Cut to the chase–Snap-On makes a great 110 volt MIG welder. Wheels on the
bottom to pull it around. I’ve used one at the local garage (my friends are
mechanics). Get out that wallet!

This is the one I got, the Snap-on Muscle Mig 140 #MM140SL. Last summer the
local welding supply store was running a few different sales on Miller and
Lincoln setups. They had a slight preference for the Lincoln, based on its
wire feed method, IIRC. However, I had been looking at welders on ebay
and found a barely used Snap-on muscle mig for almost the same money as the
Lincoln. I bid on it thinking it won’t make reserve (they usually didn’t).
This one did however and I was pleased to get it.

In addition to ebay or your local welding shop, you might consider placing a
“wanted” ad in a club newsletter or maybe JagAds. There’s got to be some
home restorers out there with some lightly (or never) used units.
