Special Interest’s Web Site is under construction. Call them at 800.556.7496 or
800.851.5600. Go to parts. Do not tell them you “want to place a catalog order”
or they will connect you to a young woman who will tell you that they are out of
catalogues. Everyone sounds like Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers. These are
good people.

I, for one, would have a hell of an order IN by now only if JODY would follow
through on the message I left on her voice mail over a week ago!!

Hi Folks. Took this off the XJ-Lovers list the other day. Rex Henderson, CT
USA 72 2+2:> They are gone as of 1/1/2000. As far as some of their victims

(Myself included) they weren’t doing business for quite some time before
that. The owner, Frank Martinelli, stopped caring about his customer base a
couple of years ago. It really is a shame as i spent thousands of dollars a
year there for many years and got to know a good bunch of nice folks who
also were very good parts people. I am even still in contact with one of the
fellows who used to work there who is now working at a Jaguar dealer.

I had suspected this happened. Bought most of my sheetmetal from them,
five or six years ago. Nice folks to work with, but business is
business.

Was this the first appearance of this thread. If not, I seem to have missed
it, but I am sorry to have confirmation of what I have suspected ever since I
could not get a response from them a couple of months ago when I wanted to
order brake pads like the ones they had provided before.

As far as them having stopped caring about their customers, my most recent
experience with them was sometime late last year. I had driven to Vermont,
having topped up the oil before leaving New Jersey. We had gotten almost to
our destination when I was aware of something bouncing behind the car, almost
like I had hit a small stone and caused it to skite away, except I had no
sense that I had hit anything, The road was smooth, and I surely would have
felt it. In hindsight, I should have stopped to check it out, because it was
my oil filler cap, which I had neglected to replace! When we stopped a few
miles later at my sister-in-law’s house the sudden appearance of smoke from
under the bonnet forced a check, and I realized what had happened.
Amazingly, not very much oil was lost. The problem part was, how do you find
a Jaguar oil filler cap in the Green Mountains at 4:00 on a Friday evening?
After a few frantic calls to all outo suppliers in the telephone directory, I
decided to call SICP. They held the Federal Express guy there, who was just
making his final pick-up of the day, and made sure I had my replacement cap
for early Saturday monrning delivery! I considered that very good service
and concern for customers. I am sorry they are gone They were good to do
business with, and therir prices were really very good. Too good it seems.
