[E-Type] S2 Brake Vacuum Hoses - Total number of feet needed?

Planning some front brake refurbishments (rotors, pads, seals,
bearings, flex hoses) and wondering about the brake vacuum
lines.

Are they subject to ‘invisible’ internal collapse like the
flex brake fluid lines are reported to be? Any key inspection
hints?

SNGB diagram shows six pieces, each $5 with same part number.
Cheap, but I assume any auto parts store can supply suitable
hose. Anyone know total number of feet needed?–

Hi Anthony, There are 3 lengths needed resevoir to servo 1’,
rsv to mc 9’’ , and rsv to clutch 9’'. So say 3 feet to be
safe. The hose must be EPDM ( for use with brake fluid and
coolants) . Mine are SAE J180 specification, and its 3/8th ‘’.–

Anthony,

I think John may have misread the question. He seems to be
talking about the low pressure brake fluid hose from the
reservoirs to the master cylinders. As I understand it, you
are asking about vacuum hose. If so, I count 6 sections on my
series 2. Checking back through my records I found that I
ordered a 6 foot length of braided vacuum hose from SNG
Barratt when I rebuilt the brake system on my Series 2. Hope
this helps.

OK David…you must read the question twice before
answering!!! As it happens the vacuum hose ( that I am
useing ) is the same as the brake fluid hose. This reminds
of the 2 neighbours haveing a chat.So your house is the same
as mine…?, Yes of course…how many rolls of wall paper did
you buy for the front room …6 rolls was the answer. a week
later they talk again…Hey I bought 6 rolls of wall paper
but I had 2 left over. Ohhh … thats funny was the answer
…so did I !!! So its 6 feet of hose for the vac
lines…I have no idea how much I used…sorry Anthony!–
