[E-Type] S2 Radiator Foam

Hi all,

Does the foam padding on top of the radiator effect cooling at all? I have a brand new one from XK’s and I’m debating whether I want to put it on or not.

Thanks
RL

YES now I have to type more so this is taken–Royal Jaguar would
not have used it if it did not–but it does help esp if the car has
AC!–

Thanks George. Thought that might be the case. What’s the best
adhesive to attach it with?

Royal!
On my 69 I took it off and found no difference even in high
heat driving.
I helps to have a good radiator system.–

I have been driving my 71 coupe for 25 years without it. However I
installed the missing foam recently and picked up an extra 4psi oil
pressure …51psi on cruise at 2000 rpm.( I have an oil cooler
mounted lower front of rad), no change in temp, though… mine
always runs in the white lower portion of the temp guage.
Overheating has never been a problem… recored rad and the twin
fan factory setup for th e Ser. 2 … life is good…–

mytype -

Thank you for the input! I’m not having a cooling problem…however…any Jaguar owner wouldn’t mind an extra few degrees…LOL. No oil cooler on mine. My temp gauge usually runs directly in the middle, maybe a tick to the right. I do have the mike frank fans, too!
