[E-Type] Seat Removal

In reply to a message from Ray Livingston sent Fri 23 Jan 2009:

I think the passage in the Bentley guide is referring to the 3.8
seats which have cushions which easily pull up out of the frame.
The technique for later cars is precisely that stated by Ray–

Hey ‘‘ADDGrarage’’

Diddo on what ‘‘they’’ stated and ‘‘Welcome’’ to the looney ‘‘E’’ ranch.
You might as well permanently place this link on your desktop, as
you’ll have a ton to ask in the coming months’years and you have a
very knowledgeable crowd here.
By the way, complete your profile to include your location and what
prized possessions you have in that garage.
Good luck with the seats.–

First time poster, first time Jag owner. I pick up a 69 OTS
and have been poking at it for the last couple weeks. What I
would like to do is remove the seats to refurbish them. The
Bentley Manual says to ‘‘remove seat cushions from the seats’’
is there a trick to that? They seem pretty solidly in place.
Thanks.

First, thanks for all the quick responses, second, it
worked, third, why didn’t I think of that!
Your right Ken I will need a link on my desktop. Oh… and I
will update my profile with what’s cluttering up my garage.

Brad, I agree with your comment about the ‘’ Sticky’ concept.
I don’t think this approach is in any way evident on this
forum…am I missing it??. I have seen its value on the
Probe GT forum, where I visit occasionally as I keep my '93
GT going as a daily driver…up to 275K…kilometers though!.–
