[E-Type] Series 1 / Series III track changes

Hello list,

Can anyone tell me what parts were used to increase the front track of the
Series III over that of the Series I E type?

If so, how much increase for each component?

I am considering how the front track of a 4.2 Series 1 might be increased.

Change to 6’’ Dayton center lace wheels. In addition to a visual
improvement (in my judgment, at least) you will gain 1.75’’ in
track. It makes an appreciable difference in how the car handles.

Don’t think you want to go there. The wheels/tires will not fit nicely within the fenders. So far it seems the best thing to do is get wider (6") wheels. With those you can put on the fattest tires that will fit without interferance and even those can’t be large by today’s standard. If you do any search at all on tire sizes you’ll see plenty of info on the size limits of the wheel wells.
