[E-Type] Series 2 rear Bumper Rubber

After an exhaustive search I have concluded that the wide rubber
trim used on the rear bumper for Series 2 cannot be made to look
attractive. Apparently Jaguar came to the same conclusion as the
Series 3 got the earlier profile rubber (same as used on all front
bumpers).

So – originality concerns aside – is there any reason why I
should not order a Series 3 bumper rubber for my Series 2?

I have the wide rubber and (if I do this) it would go in the ‘lock
box’ (with the original radiator, rear view mirror, square motor
fans, etc) should the next owner want it.–

Series 3 bumpers end differently due to the wheel arches. The
series 2 rubber is difficult to do but it can be done.–

My father had a 69’ and I a 70’ both bought new. The 69’ had
a wider rubber and the 70’ narrower. The last time I
replaced the rubber on my 70’ I just trimmed it down with a
razor blade.
A wider rubber is used on rear than front, maybe to fill gaps.
